Dr. Kaaren Vargas was born in Lima, Peru, and moved to the U.S. at a very young age. She completed her pediatric dental specialty training in 1992 at Eastman Dental Center in Rochester, NY, and a PhD in 1998 at the University of Iowa, where she became a full-time faculty member. During her 10 years on staff, she was graduate program director, directed the sedation program and taught numerous classes on cosmetic dentistry in children and interceptive orthodontics.
When she is not with her wonderful patients and staff, Dr. Vargas enjoys spending time with her husband Drew, her children Sebastian and Cecilia and her stepchildren Schyler and Shawn.
