The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that a child’s first visit to the dentist should occur by twelve months of age. This visit will allow you and your child to meet with Dr. Vargas so she can evaluate and discuss proper oral hygiene. Topics that will be discussed during this initial visit include diet, proper brushing, thumb/pacifier habits, eruption of teeth and fluoride.
Our staff will review the health history form with you at the first visit. You are welcome to accompany your child into the treatment area during the initial exam. This will allow you to see the staff in action and allow Dr. Vargas to discuss any findings directly with you. She will perform a complete examination of your child’s teeth, gums and bite. Dental radiographs will be taken only if Dr. Vargas feels they are necessary. If additional procedures are required, they will be scheduled for a later date. We follow the guide lines from the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and American Dental Association.
Here at Corridor Kids Pediatric Dentistry, parents are welcome in our treatment rooms so that you can participate in any decisions regarding your child’s dental care. If you choose to relax in the reception area, that is ok too.
We truly care for your children. We never want to see kids go without the dental care they need. If your child ever has an emergency, we can be reached 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Please don’t hesitate to call. That’s why we’re here!
